Henrique S. Benites is engaged with the cause of sustainability in the built environment for over 15 years -- as a consultant, researcher, educator and citizen. He currently teaches and conducts his doctoral research on regenerative circularity in buildings, neighbourhoods and cities at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia, and was a visiting researcher at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Henrique holds a Bachelor of Architecture and Urbanism, a Master of Bioclimatic Architecture (U.P. Madrid) and a Postgraduate Degree in Urban Engineering (UFRJ). Throughout his career, he contributed to the sustainability of various buildings and planned communities projects. Among them, as a coordinator of the first LEED-ND certification in Latin America for the Rio 2016 Athletes'Village. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil.

Urban metabolism, circular economy, regenerative development, climate change, green infrastructure, indoor/outdoor environmental quality, participatory planning, serious games in urban planning.
