Description

There could be added value in adding/enabling legends by default to the graphics. Of course, people can hover over parts of the chart and then get the info displayed, but a quick glance understanding from legend on colours in the chart could help, especially in the PIE chart type.

AFAIK, only signed in users (or even only those with data processing rights?!) can use the chart editor and enable legends. If someone who isn't signed in just wanted to download a visualisation, they wouldn't be able to turn on the legend in the chart editor and the visualisation becomes quite meaningless then.

This option becomes prominent now that the CL cities will save their preferred charts to be included in their (printed) reports.

I've changed it so that it shows the legend by default (if no one has edited the chart through the chart editor). Note that this isn't always desirable, for example here: https://cityloops.metabolismofcities.org/library/49598/

But not having a legend when it's needed is worse that seeing a legend when it's a superfluous. And of course you can still remove the legend through the chart editor.

Great, thanks Guus! Yes, I agree that not having a legend is worse.

In your example, do you mean it is undesirable because it says "Seville" now? I'm not even sure why it does that. I'd think it should show the material name.

Yeah because it says Sevilla. I don't know why it says that either.

Shall I close this ticket though? For other issues we can open a new one.

Yes, you can close the ticket Guus. Thanks.
