Announcement of June work sprints
After setting up our 2021 priority plan for the data hub, Metabolism of Cities is glad to announce a series of work sprints during the month of June.
A work sprint is a joint effort by a group of contributors to work on a set of tasks together, over a certain period of time. Some teams have work weekends, first Thursdays, work Mondays, and other activities to facilitate the work. For most of the tasks you are welcome to work on them any time, but by joining the (virtual) work room during a sprint, you can enjoy the camaraderie and have more direct engagement with fellow contributors.
During a work sprint, the project leader(s) ensure that there are a curated set of tasks or a clearly defined goal that the group works on, which often makes it possible for anyone to join - whether you are new to our community or have been part of it for a long time, and whether you only have a little bit of time to spare or you are in it for the long haul.
In order to get our data hub priority plan going, we will hold work sprints every Monday of June. As a team, we will be available for support and questions throughout the day through our forum and task list. However, there will also be a group call every Monday from 4-5 PM CEST. During these calls, we will present that week's goals, and also provide a general introduction to the data hub for people that are new to Metabolism of Cities. These work sprints are also open to contributors from the Metabolism of Islands community, with whom we technically share the exact same data hub platform.
If you want to start getting involved, this will be a perfect opportunity! Join us during our June sprints. Click here to view the live calendar.
