This report has been prepared within WP2 “Development and implementation of urban metabolism and material flow analysis approach for decision making processes” with the purpose to define a preliminary UMAn model guide for cities to implement it using the eight pilot cities data gathering process as case studies.The report discusses the extensive data gathering process that local partners underwent, using D2.1 Model Architecture and specifically the Manual for data collection. Further, secondary sources of data and processing and compilation is described to illustrate the tasks that need to be performed depending on the data available. The report indicates that different cities in different countries have access to different levels of data,hence, different approaches to calculate the UMAn model need to be implemented, which indicatesthe need for further work and custom-tailored models.
