Soil map (1: 20,000) of Belgium

The Belgian soil map was drawn up on the basis of the results of an intensive soil mapping during the 1950s to 1970s. This Belgian soil map is based on the Belgian soil classification system. It is a national system that was drawn up exclusively for Belgian soils.
For the sake of visualization, this dataset is divided into 5 map layers: soil types, substrates, phases, variants of the parent material, and the profile development. The map layer 'soil types' contains all attribute information of the soil map (can be retrieved by clicking on the blue soil type in the table). Where available, the general characteristics and photos of a representative soil profile and representative environments are shown for each soil type.
