Chicago Climate Data

These data sets are collected from https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/cdo-web/ (NOAA National Centres For Environmental Information - National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration). The files include data from January 2016 to April 2021, however, this site has data since October-15-1870. These files have the following data for various stations including station name and station location (Latitude and Longitude). Please note that every station has not all of the following data, some may contain partial data.

DX32 - Number days with maximum temperature < 32 F.
DX70 - Number days with maximum temperature > 70 F (21.1C)
DX90 - Number days with maximum temperature > 90 F (32.2C)
DT00 - Number days with minimum temperature less than or equal to 0.0 F
DT32 - Number days with minimum temperature less than or equal to 32.0 F
DP01 - Number of days with greater than or equal to 0.1 inch of precipitation
DP10 - Number of days with greater than or equal to 1.0 inch of precipitation

Precipitation
EMXP - Extreme maximum precipitation for the period.
EMSD - Extreme maximum snow depth for the period.
EMSN - Extreme maximum snowfall for the period.
DSND - Number days with snow depth > 1 inch(25.4mm) for the period.
DSNW - Number days with snow depth > 1 inch.
PRCP - Precipitation
SNOW - Snowfall

Air Temperature
TAVG - Average Temperature.
CDSD - Cooling Degree Days Season to Date
EMXT - Extreme maximum temperature for the period.
EMNT - Extreme minimum temperature for the period.
HDSD - Heating Degree Days Season to Date
TMAX - Maximum temperature
TMIN - Minimum temperature

Wind
AWND - Average wind speed
WDF2 - Direction of fastest 2-minute wind
WDF5 - Direction of fastest 5-second wind
WSF2 - Fastest 2-minute wind speed
WSF5 - Fastest 5-second wind speed
WDMV - Total wind movement

Evaporation
MXPN - Daily maximum temperature of water in an evaporation pan
MNPN - Daily minimum temperature of water in an evaporation pan
EVAP - Evaporation of water from evaporation pan

HX* - Highest maximum soil temperatures

- Highest minimum soil temperatures
